Two more quilts finished!

Two more tops quilted - both will be charity quilts for a women's shelter through our church. The first one was a birthday block quilt - I asked for Amish designs and really like this one. It is backed in the same aqua that I used for the faux piping.

This one is a scrappy block that is like a disappearing block. It's a 16patch that you cut on the diagonals then rearrange the 4-triangles. Lots of bias, but it turns out okay. I was surprised at how much the sashing puckered after it was washed. Maybe because of the bias? Not sure. Anyway, that's two more done and out of the closet!

I'll have to try that 16 patch design. It makes a really interesting quilt!

Both beautiful quilts, Sue. You might be right about the puckering having to do with the bias, but it looks great - almost like it's gathered.

Congrats on the finishes. They both turned out great. I have to try that 16-patch design. I have a lot of 2.5" scraps that I can use.

Both are nice quilts, but I love the 16 patch one. Don't worry about the puckering, some of us like that look.

I agree, I like the puckering. And the Amish one is very pretty. I need to do a blue and yellow quilt. I'm amazed by how much you get done.

They're both looking great. I love the colors in the Amish quilt. The 16-patch looks like a great scrap buster. You've chosen a very pleasing set of fabric.

Nice jobs both, certain to brighten the environment for the ladies. The faux piping is an especially nice touch. Congrats on completing them both.

I love them both.. Don't know how you manage to finish so many projects. I'd like to see the pattern for that 16 patch.

Fran, the 16 patch is a disappearing 16-patch. Here is a link to how you make them. Disappearing 16 patch You do lose your points, so if that bothers you, this is not a quilt to make! :)

It is quick and easy and uses lots of scraps!
