Living area layout

Looking for some tips as to how to best layout this space

There is 2 bachelors living in this apartment and this is the main living space

Clutter is an issue we need to sort out, I'm open to any ideas of layout, new bits of furniture, removing furniture etc..

I'm not sold we are utilising the space to its maximum potential, the glass doors are great but I they feel a little blocked off with furniture

Any Ideas welcome

Cheers
Mick

Mick - great place! Here are a few ideas. Consider putting the tall speakers on the media center behind the flat screen and turn them 45 degrees to get them off floor. Subwoofer needs a better home between them back there too. Move the cool rug so the front feet of at least the long sofa rest on the rug. Move the table away 18" / turn it 90 degrees closer to the outside wall.

Swap the poang chairs with the loveseat - put the loveseat with its back to the table area / end of stair and put poang chairs as a pair facing loveseat between technology and guitars.

Get black or gray technology chair. Hang purple art now on either side of glass door behind loveseat and desk together stacked on the left side of the left doors facing the sofa near the guitars. Organize the books in the bookcase roughly by color and height and add some red trinkets as bookends to keep them looking straight - put all the red ones together on the top shelf off to one side. Get a net for the blue excercise ball so it can hang under the soffit like art over the desk on the left side.

Buy some large wood toned baskets - sturdy ones - and put them under the stair so you can put clutter in them. When they overflow - time to use the bin. Get some graphic red and white art element and put it on the "column" area over the big sofa.

You need some more floor lamps since you prefer coffee orientation for tables - silver tones to echo the gray accent with heavy bases - modern and spend some money on them so they will last. Stick with silver from now on (or black) that when you buy anything metal. Get a bunch of command hooks in silver and line them up to use the stair wall to hang up the skateboards like they were an art installation.

Consider buying wall hooks for some of the guitars to hang side by side over tv - the art there is too small.

    Libradesigneye, great advise thank you!

Can I confirm what table you are referring to (move 18 inches and 90 degrees)

Also are you suggesting that I move the 2 seater couch (love seat?) basically directly opposite to where it is now? I've thought of that but would it not look like its blocking off access to the living area? I've actually thought about selling the 2 seater to free up space but would be a shame

    Thanks again!

Yep if there is room to rotate the loveseat around, it will "square up" the living room area but i saw in one photo that there was a table back there and didn't know how it would all fit. You need to have a rule about replacement technology - when one comes in, the replaced element goes out.
