I finally dug out a couple of examples of my better cross stitch pieces. I didn't get to the tiny Christmas ornaments I made one year. Maybe later.

This first one was during my Asian decor phase I guess. It was one of the larger pieces I did.

And this pair of ducks. None of these are currently hanging anywhere in our house.

I have similar Asian themed pieces of my grandmothers in PP. Yours is beautiful! You should hang it. The ducks are so cute. Would go nicely tucked in a corner of a study or den.

Ditto about the quilts (I tried and failed. My quilt is currently being used for leaf collections.) AND to the water colors, clairebuoyant1. What a gift! My MIL started painting, mostly in WC, after she retired. She never new she had the talent. Unfortunately, none of my 3 children inherited her trait.

Does anyone know how I can make my photographs smaller? I linked to a file on my computer.

I sew. I'm currently making my clothes for my dtr's wedding, made my oldest dtr's wedding gown, no pictures. Here are a couple pics of recent clothes I've made for my gdtrs.

sheesh - Very pretty and fine workmanship. I used to sew a lot for my two daughters when they were younger. I also did some custom work like curtains and comforters. Stopped that long ago and only do mending my myself and the family.

I recently received a new sewing machine for Christmas. Have yet to open the box. lol However, in today's mail, a bolt of 118" x 12 yards of light pink Voile arrived. I am going to make the curtains for DD's nursery.

Nhb, the zipper tab on my husband's favorite winter jacket broke off - two years ago! Poor guy is a good sport about it, wears it with a safety pin where the tab should be. I hate mending! I'd rather make him a new jacket than repair that zipper. Have fun making the curtains.

I'm late to the party, but everyone has shown such beautiful work. I would love to draw and paint, but the image in my head never comes out of my hand. I opt for sewing and photos instead. Im having to practice to get my sewing skills back. My current work life doesn't offer a lot of time, so my skills have gone down hill. I love photography, but it's a numbers game for me to get a few I'm happy with.

Talents? Well, mine were more academic than artistic, but I'm trying hard to find my inner artist! That gene went elsewhere in the family. My joke is my sister is the artistic one, and I'm the autistic one (and there is more than a little truth to that.)

I took up photography several years ago, and my skills are hit and miss. But here are some I like:

I used to knit, but now I like crocheting. I did the hat and the blanket for my nieces.

I'm also really good at demo, like destroying walls and stuff. :P

I don't know which is cuter, the hat and blanket, or the babies!

I combine my love of antique roses and photography in my garden at home.

I don't have any talents but my 9 year old son drew this of our bearded dragon Cricket.

I am amazed at ALL the talent and then to see what nicole___ has done, to a 9 year olds pencil drawing, just blows my mind!

nhb22, how beautiful, both pictures. Lovely landscape, so different from mine, although I have some of the same lilies. I adore peonies; if only they bloomed longer. That second picture makes me want to see more of what looks like a very lovely home.

Existing arbor with benches, we purchased a few years ago.

lavender, that's going to be beautiful; must have been quite a bit of work. The arbor with benches is awesome, and that's a great picture with the horses appearing to be practically in the garden.

lavender - That's great. Pretty property, and I also love the horses. Occasionally, there are a couple at the farm behind our house. We have mostly cows.

I've made all of the window treatments in the house. The fabric on this window inspired the entire house...it was a swatch I handed the architect when I first met him.

Amazing group of talent here. Thank you all for sharing. This wood art below is called Intarsia. It's made with a scroll saw and sanders, using natural wood colors, no stain or paint.

Natesg, the bib is great! Very dignified. I love your intarsia, too. My DH has just acquired his dad's lathe and is anxious to get started learning to use it.

I have no photos handy, but I make quilts, clothing and home dec stuff like window treatments. I also knit, crochet and cross stitch. I've done a bit of painting and flower arranging, too. And I play clarinet and handbells and sing (not all at once, though).

Thank you. I was at the right place at the right time. Had just let the dog out the back. Ran back to get my phone to take a picture of the rainbow. I decided to get down on my bum to take it with the Lillies.

sundowner - The detail in the photographed bird is amazing! I can never get cloe enough without them flying away. But I did capture an amazing sight on video with my iPhone a couple of weeks ago at Disney's Animal Kingdom. I would have to put it on YouTube to post it here, so no go. Instead, here's a few screen shots. Rememeber that I was sitting in a moving, bumpy, Jeep, and the subjext was moving, so the quality is terrible!

These guys were running after our Jeep. The park guides say they had never seen it. Beautiful!

Oakley, the trick for the 1/2" half square triangles is the Primitive Gatherings triangle paper ( http://www.mesquitebeanfabrics.com/shop/product/1-2in-triangle-paper-for-charms/ ) and the hardest part was ironing the 1/8" seams open when the rows were so close together. It took a few days to get it all finished.

sundowner...it will be hand sewing. I started a crocheted quilt of 762 small granny squares which then have to be sewn together like a patchwork quilt. (not to mention weaving in ends!) I'm halfway through sewing the small squares into larger ones, and then need to get the larger squares together and then add a crocheted border. Every time I think of the entire job left to do, I get stymied. I need to just think of the next step and slug through it.

Had I just done a simple afghan, it would've been done years ago.

So many talented people on GW/Houzz. I've enjoyed seeing everything.

I don't have any pictures to share, but have done stitching (cross stitch, needlepoint, petipoint and embroidery). Several of my friends and I decided to do a holiday sale years ago, where I made a lot of rosebud topiary, rosebud picture frames and reindeer centerpieces. I've done numerous centerpieces and other floral arrangements, wreaths and topiary for our homes. Canvas art done with various pieces (coins, rings, keys, metal pieces, textured papers and cloth, etc). I've sewn curtains, tablecloths and costumes. Created several garden areas at our last home. I played the flute and piccolo in high school and was in an Army Reserve Band. I also twirled rifle in high school, and have the bad wrist to prove it! My most consist talent has been decorating/accessorizing.

Holly, you helped me get through this one with your encouragement. You know I was about to smash it a few times lol.

Allison, you are a very talented decorator that is FACT! I like to garden/landscape too. I love using colorful foliage and textures like it's art ...,only, living. But, can't even sew a button on.

I don't do handwork, except one nice little cross stitched sign I made for my friend when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. It says, F*ck Cancer, with a surround of flowers. Don't think I can post it here, lol!
