What does the base, or mount, look like where this item attaches to the ceiling? There are no photos at all.

Unfortunately images of the canopy are rarely supplied by the manufacturer, Typically they are round and approximately 4-1/2" to 5" in diameter and in the same finish as the fixture. In this case the canopy would be in a satin nickel finish - Destination Lighting
