I have already taken off the ugly tile that was on the hearth. What should I put there now? Was thinking of also white-washing it. It's not in the budget to completely reface it. It is also open to the hallway behind it (where you stack wood). Not sure if I should close that up or leave it open. Would love your thoughts.
