I have no experience with container grown iris at all, but I wonder if they are still just settling in. Sometimes iris don't bloom at all the first year after planting, & occasionally the blooms don't look as good that first year. I don't think I've ever had flowers get stuck, although I have occasionally had them grow very short for some reason.

Thank you for your comment, Nancy. In my case I almost missed the fact they bloom. The flowers were flattened between leaves and it was not easy to get it out without damage. Here is the picture of one flower the next day.

Is this a rebloomer?

No, it is not rebloomer. It is Wench and I have Vigilante in the same pot which has the same problem with flowers.

Hmm, it happens with rebloomers (in the ground) and no satisfactory explantion have I found.

I wonder with the potted ones it has to do with the moisture cycle?

We have also had this happen. With Wench; Braggadocio; Twist Of Fate and also a number of other tall bearded iris, as well as with new developing iris seedlings. I suspect it is something to do with climate conditions. We live in an area in New Zealand that varies from extreme cold to extreme heat and high humidity. The plants usually flower normally on the next and subsequent seasons. We can sometimes have several plants do this in one season, yet they are perfectly alright on other seasons. I strongly suspect humidity to be the major culprit.

I noticed this year one of my irises has an odd cork screw twist with the stalk. This clump has been in the ground for 4 years. I've never seen anything like it before. Not sure why it happened. I've not yet had one get stuck like this but this year is an exception.
