I grew Bubblegum last year and am doing so this year. Supertunias are sterile hybrids. They do not produce seed and aren't reproduced commercially from seed.

Wave petunias are not sterile.

A word of warning about your new Bubblegum.....be sure to give it plenty of room! Crazy how they spread out. I'm growing a couple in containers this year.

Supertunia are supposed to be sterile but if you have tidal wave petunia nearby they will produce seed. I guess the Tidal waves are potent.

I have had a few seedlings of 'Bubblegum' the next year. Perhaps they are mostly sterile.

I have a pot of supertunias that came back for 3 years. Looks this will be the first that they do not. They were coming up nicely and then we had a frost. I am excited about putting bubblegum in the ground and in pots. I know what the grower intended but I'll put my money on nature.

A member in the Far North forum managed to overwinter her Bubblegum petunias and she posted a picture of it recently. She had a slight issues with aphids and powdery mildew but overall, she was successful.
