Best windows for window boxes??

Hi! We will be remodeling our house, and replacing all of the windows. I'd love to install window boxes in the 2nd and third story windows, but wasn't sure how people typically access them to plant/water. I was wondering how this is even possible if you want to have screens in the windows. Is there preferred windows/window style to do this? Just trying to think ahead. Thanks!

While they don't totally answer your question these 2 blog entires from Deborah Silver, a Detroit area landscape designer gave me a lot to think about with window boxes as far as what was practical. She does suggest setting up an automatic watering system.

I do think that the crank out windows would be more difficult since then you could only plant draping plants, nothing that grows upward. You would want windows that slide up, and probably screens that could do the same.
