How much do they cost? Could my current cabinets be stained cherry?

Hi Dianne, thanks for the questions!

Since cherry is the actual wood species used to build the doors, your existing cabinets can't be changed to "cherry," but they could be stained a color that is more similar to what you see on a cherry wood. (The color shown here is "Mocha" but it is only available on Durasupreme cabinets.) Since cherry naturally can have a reddish or brownish color, you often see reddish, reddish-brown, and other darker shades of stain on cherry wood. Cabinets can be re-stained, but it requires much more work (including sanding all the existing finish away) than painting them would.

As far as cost, it is hard to give a cost without knowing the details of your exact kitchen, but cherry does tend to be a bit higher in cost than other common woods, such as maple.

    Hope this helps! -Emily
