Layout changes:

Removed soffits.

Demolished the pantry and replaced it with a bench and hooks and cubbies.

Placed cabinet/pantry where fridge was originally, angled the cabinet next to it for better door-opening clearance. Shelf for microwave.

Reduced stove wall for more clearance.

Moved SINGLE-BOWL sink further down the wall, centered under new single BIGGER window.

New counter-depth fridge now lives next to the dining room wall enclosed with gable.

And of course, all new lights, cabinetry (drawers!!) and pulls, granite countertop, vinyl tile floor, trim and paint.

Ideas we abandoned: lowering any countertop for my short self, a peninsula, changing the garage door swing.
