Led bulbs would be less watts.

Yes, it will light up the ceiling and not the room. The design blocks most of the light from coming out the bottom. And it will make an odd striped pattern of light and dark on the walls.

We have this fixture and yes, IMO, it lights up the space nicely. Good luck!

The fixture will light up the ROOM, but indirectly which is a light that is quite nice to live under. Less harsh.

Thanks, everyone for your feedback! avery2pt0 where do you use the light in your house? We want to hang it in a small living room. Is it a warm light? Does it provide enough light that you do not need an extra lamp? Is it possible for you to take a photo of your light? I hope I'm not imposing by asking and don't bother if it is a hassle. I can't find any images that show what the light looks like hanging in a room. I love the look of it but the light dispersion was a concern.

I had this fixture as a flush mount in my foyer - 8' ceiling - didn't light the foyer very much but made interesting 'designs' on the ceiling. I Iiked the fixture very much and didn't need the foyer lit up.
