I need to order 18 eight inch floating shelf brackets

Can you custom make the mounting plate 1-1/2'' x 1'-1/2'' I want as close to 1-3/4'' shelves as possible. Also I have three 36'', three 42'' and three 16'' shelves to make. HOW many brackets do I need. Thanks! David Marks

    David:

We can make those - it does take 10 - 12 days for custom orders. Also - I would suggest 2 8" brackets for your 32" shelves and 3 8" for your 42" shelves. You should make the 16" shelves wider so they can span two studs. If that's not possible then you can install the brackets with a wall anchor as long as you're not going to put a lot of weight on them.

    So I'll need 18 1-1/2'' x 1-1/2'' brackets. How do I order these? THANKS!

I'll need two holes drilled. One above and one below the tube for mounting.

    David:

A hole below will not provide any strength or security. Any attachment has to be above the rod for leverage.

I understand now. Have you ever put in two screw holes next to each other above the tube? Lower the tube 1/4 of an inch? Maybe I'm over thinking:)
