Buying the seeds off ebay I'd say that the worst case scenario is that you end up with something that doesn't resemble Mortgage Lifter at all, such as some random cherry tomato.

What is the point, the goal, of this comparison? And what specific growing conditions and environment are you using for the comparison. Without all that information any comparison is pointless since there are so many variables.

Well of course , we all try to grow different varieties from which we pick the ones we like ( based on taste, production etc). This year alone I am growing about 15 new varieties. But comparison is different. ML and BgBf are in two different classes : One is very large fruiting OP, the other is medium hybrid, with disease resistance. JMO

That's the point. Exactly what is it you are thinking you will see? You titled the post as some sort of competition between two varieties that aren't even comparable to begin with. And then you give no criteria for this comparison. It makes no sense. *shrugs*. So what exactly are they supposedly fighting for?

Well because of limited space and my natural speed of getting bored? Not getting pulled and tossed out.

Also I grow under LED so it's not like I have a "season" to think about.

Not really. Just more expensive.

I grow in greenhouses,outdoors in containers, and in the ground both commercially and organically and they are all totally different practices in methodology, nutrient and water issues, varietal production levels, pest issues, pollination issues, plant health and even fruit flavor. I am not saying one approach is better or worse, just different and with little in common. Any attempts to compare them just aren't valid.
