The floor is flat--anything that deviates from flat is part of the wall or the cabinets. Go for the cherry.

Unfortunately the floor is not totally level on the other side. The cabinets don't go completely to the floor. Shim in a few spots. Thanks for the confirmation everyone!

Definitely cherry. Make it appear that the horizontal surface (floor) is the pine color while the vertical (cabinets/toe kick) is cherry.

What is shoe trim? I am reading everything here about the toe kick at the base of cabinet. I am very worried about this area getting worn over time from mopping. How do
People deal with that. It used to be common to install flooring material there but no one does that anymore.
