I don't think it needs anything, except to replace the ceiling fans with more attractive lighting. I doubt they do much for the comfort of three room, and add glare and dust catchers. My opinion only, you asked ;)

I would replace the moldings around all the windows and the french door. I feel they are to narrow for the large space. I would also soften the wall with fixed colorfull window panels on the left four windows from the upper windows all the way to the floor with valances on the top two windows only. The right window would have a valance only. I like that electrical outlets were installed for Christmas lights or other uses on the upper windows, smart thinking. I would also replace the two fans with a single duel horizonal bar fan. Lastly I would remove the carpet and install hardwood flooring to bring in more warmth and because the french door opens to the outside. Nice space though.
