Watering too much or not enough?

I live in the Valdosta area. I have several plants in pots, tomatoes, strawberries, sweet yellow peppers and habaneros. I only water the strawberries 3 times a week. How often should I water the others? I have been watering at least 2x a day everyday for the others...too much, too little....HELP!

How big are the pots? I have two tomato plants in an 18" pot and water once a day (provided it doesn't rain). Evenings are best when the sun is setting so they absorb as much water as possible overnight.

What are your symptoms? Are you getting yellowing leaves?

Sorry to take so long to respond...busy work schedule. They are in 12" pots. I am getting a few yellow leaves towards the bottom. I am I over watering or should that be fine due to the sun exposure.

Definitely pinch anything yellow off. You could try watering less. Just keep an eye on it and make adjustments as needed. Is there proper drainage material in the base of the pot? Is the pot sitting directly on the ground? If you can, raise the base off the ground with some pot feet or blocks so the pot may drain freely.
