Excuse me?

I am just curious as to where the author of this article learned to write such flowery prose. IMHO, the writing was much more creative than the decorating which was fairly standard fare in the decorating world. Pretty kitchen, but hardly unique. In showcasing a "real" kitchen, it would be helpful to show how it functions in actual home use, not merely staged for a photo. Most anybody could have a picture perfect kitchen if they didn't have to deal with the pesky details of cooking in it.

After much digging I have found that the flooring is called Umbrian Limestone and was obtained from a place called Floors of Stone for this project.

I just get tired of "experts" showing ordinary projects and talking them up as if they're God's gift to the decorating community. There is nothing at all original about that kitchen. EXCEPT, of course, it has never been lived in and doesn't have anything the counters to make it look "alive". Flowers on the counter do not suggest a usable kitchen. Kitchens have "stuff" on the counters (toaster, bread box, etc.) and a dish here or there. Hiding all that doesn't give a realistic look as to how the kitchen will look in a REAL home.

Wow! Just to clear one thing up, we photographed this kitchen as soon as it had been installed so in theory no, it had not been lived in. Would you like us to go back and photograph it again for you with some 'stuff' on the sides?? A family of 5 live in this house with 3 small children and I can certainly assure you, it is a usable kitchen.

I am allowed to post my opinions. Most of them are pretty positive. THIS thread is one I happen to have negative opinions of. I find it interesting Hill Farm Furniture offered this: Would you like us to go back and photograph it again for you with some 'stuff' on the sides?? but haven't posted that photograph. Just proves my point.

I'm neither bitter nor envious. I just don't like "decorators" showing staged rooms and passing them off as "real" rooms for a family. On January 9, the decorator offered to send pics of the kitchen in use, but apparently that was just bluster as its now 1/4 the way through April,, I'm still waiting to see those after pics.

Sarah, the decorator is not going to knock on this client’s home and get a picture for you.

Oh my goodness, how is this still going on?! For a start, we are not ‘decorators’ we are a bespoke kitchen manufacturer, and secondly, we’ve been too busy running a business to go back and get a picture for you!

Then why did you offer to share after pics? I'd actually like to see how your award winning design works and looks when inhabited by a family with three small children. It might even change my mind about the design. As it is, I question whether this was an actual working kitchen or a display for a contest. Either way is fine with me, but I prefer the truth.

Also, I wouldn't expect a professional company to make an offer never meaning to follow through. It seems like you just said whatever you thought would shut me up. Do you do that with customers...make offers you never intend to follow through with? How does that work out in practice? Seems it would lead to unhappy customers.

Perhaps you should have just accepted that ONE Houzz reader wasn't impressed with this particular project instead of making an offer you never intended to follow through on...

NOW, it's a sticky wicket that opens up a lot of potential questions instead of your simply accepting that you didn't get 100 percent raves.

Motupeg...then why did they offer after pics? I understand others think it's a wonderful kitchen, and I don't question their right to think that or to say so. It's just weird that they feel a need to post that my opinion has no value...and then accuse me of being bitter, envious and rude rather than just accepting we view this project differently and offered our viewpoint on a forum set up to offer personal viewpoints rather positive or negative.

As I originally stated, a designer using flowery prose about their project comes off as rather egotistical. I prefer their saying "this is a kitchen I created for a family/contest. It features X and y... Let me know what you think".

oragnizedsarah you really need to relax. If you don't like the picture, move on. There are plenty of others to look at.

I really am not much of a worrier as worrying never accomplishes anything. I don't understand the need to call me names since you really only "know" me through this thread. Kind of a minimum of knowledge of me to be able to decide what kind of person I am. I am actually just interested in this particular kitchen plan and whether it works well. I hope you find something positive to occupy your mind.

and, I have to add... a beautiful warm kitchen.

I feel this kitchen is beautiful and functional with lots of cabinet spaces.
Even with two sinks it would work perfectly with bigger family.
Nobody want to show and see everyday stuffs displayed like any normal day for photo moment. Not only decorators, anybody who wants to show their house to sell too!
