Bosch or Kitchen Aid?

I'm building a house and I'm torn. I've heard Bosch is better at the wall over/baking and dishwasher and I've heard Kitchen Aid is better at the Fridge and range hood! Any help would be great! Thank you,

I'm getting all difference appliance brands based on the specific appliance needs. I think you'll find many people on this board do the same. Here are my (current) choices:

    - Kitchenaid freestanding counter-depth refrigerator (because I like the drawer configuration in the freezer)

    - Wolf gas cooktop (again, I like the configuration)

    - Double ovens will probably be Bosch Benchmark, but if I need to save a couple thousand dollars, will choose Kitchenaid.

    - Vent-a-hood range hood (I understand these are the best combo of power and quiet)

    - Dishwasher -- I still haven't decided. If I can afford it, will get an Asko. If not, probably Bosch.

The majority of the appliance obsessed who hang out at the Appliance Forum would suggest that you treat each appliance as a separate purchase. Not all companies do everything well. Some are downright awful. It's best to purchase the best appliance in your price range that suits your needs. Treat them as separate purchases.

KA makes good refrigerators. They aren't the cheapest, they aren't the most expensive. Bosch makes an excellent dishwasher in a number of price ranges. Vent-A-Hood is a top of the line exhaust system and has many fans:).

With the popularity of stainless steel as a finish, it is no longer necessary to match appliances from the same company as it was in the past. I have a Kitchen Aid Architect II French Door refrigerator, a Bluestar range top, Vent-A-Hood exhaust, Thermador double ovens, Bosch dishwasher and a GE microwave. They are all stainless.

I was appliance obsessed when we remodeled out kitchen 10 years ago. Had a built in KA fridge, Wolf gas cooktop, Dacor ovens, Miele DW and GE microwave. All performed well and never needed a repair except for the DW that etched my glassware and required me to use only the China Crystal cycle to prevent that (will never buy another Miele DW).

Flash forward - I moved to a place with an acceptable kitchen and unacceptable 15 year old appliances. I'm no longer quite as appliance obsessed and frankly didn't see the value of the more expensive appliances. So this time I got mid-range stuff but still what I thought was best of breed for my needs - LG fridge, Electrolux induction range, Bosch DW, GE convection microwave. So far so good but it's early.
