I need advice fast! We are building (built, almost) a beautiful new log home. It has a sizable walk-out basement with 10-ft. ceiling. The basement also has a small kitchen, bedroom, bath, rec area, stone fireplace, and will have a couch, chairs. The walls are dry wall, except for the wall around the fireplace, which is log siding. Right now, it has a concrete floor. I would like to stain it, but my husband insists on epoxy. Of course, we will add rugs. We cannot afford to do ceramic tiles (except in the bathroom). I have zero experience with epoxy and am afraid that our floor will look like a garage floor. Should we just do a clear coat, clear coat with specks? If so, what color specks? I do want it to look as "classy" as possible, as the rest of the house is very nice/high-end. What color /kind epoxy should we use?? Will the speckles make it look more like a garage floor?? I need to know, uh -- yesterday!!!
