Born Again Garden

What once was a garden is now overgrown with weeds. I started a cardboard/mulch smothering project before I realized I had access to a rototiller. I will most likely keep it there. The overall space is 14 yards by 14 yards. I'd like to add raised beds for perennials and a sitting area. I'm hoping for advice on arrangement. I live in MA.

10 years agolast modified: 10 years agoOoh boy that's a big garden you are planning! Raised beds are awesome but have you thought about your (ahem) budget? This is going to cost a lot of coin just to build them all and fill with useful soil/composed manure etc. I hope you have some minions to assist as this is too much for most to do single handedly. But for ideas I would head to Pinterest as there are some amazing inspiration pics (what I call garden porn) that will pop up on the search engine by typing in something like "raised bed garden design" or similar. Happy digging.

10 years ago- 10 years agoFrom left to right. We just built compost bins that will go in the corner on top of the mulch. I was thinking of beds surrounded by rocks using the soil from this area, otherwise I'd have to buy loam to fill the beds.
