Help me finish this living room, please!

We have been making progress on our living room but I would love some advice on what we need to finish this out. We obviously need a coffee table (what color, size, shape--I am not sure!) and our plan is to add a low long floating TV console and some floating shelves on the TV wall.
We just got those two flowered chairs yesterday and I love the colors--that is the accent color palette I want for the whole room (green, aqua, gray). Can anyone help with the placement of the rug/furniture? Do things need to be shifted?
I would love any advice on what pieces we should look buying at to complete this room!

PRO13 years ago- 13 years agoYes, Kathryn is right--it's at the same height as the round mirror in the entryway. I think it's the angle of the photo/the raised hall floor.
We got 4 of these chairs for the dining table and we are going to make a matching bench for one side. I'm working from home this morning and I pulled one into the office. It looks great but I have to concede this one to my husband--it is not vall that comfortable to sit in all day! I think we'll have to go the practical route and look for a traditional office chair for that space.
- 12 years agoHi everyone! Does anyone have any suggestions for how to style the media console? I just bought a couple more things for the room like the lamp (still has tags on in the photo :) ) and some small accessories for the console so I've been trying a few different arrangements.
It seems like that long space always looks either too cluttered or too empty. My husband thought maybe a bunch of small picture frames would be nice. Any ideas?

- 12 years agoQuick pillow question! I saw some darker green large pillows on sale online at Crate and Barrel so I ordered two of them. I tried them on the larger couch but they made the room look kind of dark and dull so I tried switching them out with the aqua pillows on our window seats instead...does this work, or should these olive pillows head back to C&B?

Here it is with the pillows the other way around--is the color of these new pillows too dark? It goes with the rug but I feel like it kind of brings down the brightness of the chairs.
- PRO12 years agolast modified: 12 years agoYes, I think you should follow your gut. They are beautiful pillows, but they don't quite work with what you have going on.
I'd switch back to the turquoise! :)

- PRO12 years agolast modified: 12 years agoOk, no laughing! Sometimes I hit send to quickly, and now you have lots of options! ;) Had a minute to think things through. We DO need to tie that area rug in somehow. I would recommend the two on the left for your window seats, and the two on the right for your sofa. :)

- 12 years agoSo I picked up a couple of teal pillows at Home Goods, but I think these ones are too bold and shiny. My husband was not a fan so these may be going back to the store....
