I suspect that it's grey mold. I would prune out any stems that are black. Others would probably spray, but I managed to save the one plant that had that problem last summer, just by pruning.

Thanks Labradors. I assume you are speaking of Botrytis? I don't see any of the usual fuzz that I associate with Botrytis though.
