I am sorry to hear this. I went through a pool build from hell too. I just don't realize what is so freaking difficult for a pool builder to do quality work. It just seems that the industry is full of people with no self respect nor pride of workmanship. I do realize that there are some that do, so don't jump on me for generalizing.

Be prepared for the PB to make excuses, tell you lies and not give a damn. Just stick to your guns.

Wow this is a terrible situation for you to be in. Nobody is going to do well in this situation. If a pool was supposed to be 8 feet but was 7 feet that is one thing...but the shallow depth of your pool makes it such a deal breaker. One thing that seemed strange was you said that it took them two days to shoot it...that seems weird to me. It is big at 60' long but did they have problems with weather, rain, hot concrete or plugged lines or something? This would not have made the pool any shallower unless they shot the floor two feet thick! In terms of repair, there is very little that can be done at this stage. I imagine they will want to try to get you to take it as-is for a discount but given the depth being so shallow I dont see how you could possibly be OK with it. Aqua-Link Pools and Spas : Is there any way that you could elaborate on this? I'm spending a ton of money on this project and I want to make sure that it is done correctly.

The pool sits on a hill and sits 2 feet lower than my house. There were to be a few steps down to get to the pool.

Instead of digging lower, could they add additional gunite to the top of the pool, and then there just wouldn't be as many steps down to my pool from the house? If so, what would I need to make sure of to make sure that it is done properly.

Dont settle for anything other than them making it right. Thats a pathetic mistake, one that could have been avoided and caught at excavation, then plumbing, then steel, etc etc etc. I would not add to the bond beam. Even if possible with other hydraulic problems, steps, etc etc, it is a bandaid.

Stomach the fact that your schedule and timeline is gone now. Making this right, regardless how long it takes, is precedent.
