I agree, use more wall surface to display the same amount of frames. It will look more spectacular!

Thanks everyone! I really like Thou Fool's suggestion of taping a rectangle to the wall. I am trying this tonight and will post an update!

IMO there are too many tiny frames and it will look too busy.

I agree I like bigger frames, However, I am putting family pictures in them and I don't want to end up with HUGE pictures of ourselves! Some frames will have an insert so I guess that solves that problem, though I think a mix of frames with and without inserts is probably best?

Finally got to this. How did I do?

First, choose a frame color. In my half bath I opted for black, so I just sprayed any of my older wood frames to match.

Next align something. At least the top and bottom of the composition should align, outer edges probably should too.

Right now this all looks too random.

Pull the lines back on so that the rectangle is no wider than the pew/bench. Then, to for classic 3 x 5 or 5 x 6: proportions.

The bench is cute. The framed gallery wLl is just a little too cluttered, and wide, to make it all work.

New attempt! I actually like mixing frames but I tried to line them up better.
