Think about matching the countertop, since there are quite a few other colors on the wall. Turn the diamonds on their side - it isn't usually done so they'll look more interesting. You'll need a border - you can use a brown onyx color for that
Try and find an outlet cover in a matching color so they blend in better - Lutron and Leviton have many designer colors (a little costly compared to standard Home Depot) or the store may have outlet covers that match the stone.

You have three agreements. The diamonds are both the correct color and the right size, especially with the wall color you have selected. Definitely turn them 45 degrees, as they tend to look "jesterish" (for lack of a better term) when they look like diamonds.

the diamonds turned are the best of the choices shown. but i wish you'd find one less gold and not quite so busy.

I don't like when things don't match or aren't cohesive, so that is why I picked a backsplash that has gold like the countertops. Will that not look right though? I had a hard time finding a neutral tile that didn't look pink or brown next to the countertop.

Gold is right, or you have to do a contrast. Do they have that stone in any other profile? it is sort of a trend now, but if you can find a more classic profile then it will not date your kitchen.

They didn't. I really wanted subway tiles, but the lady I worked with said this color only came in the diamond shape.

I like the top two on the sample board. The diamond tiles on the right are kind of heavy....too much gold. Then again, seeing the whole room would help.

Here's an idea. What about working the diamond tile above the range below the range hood as an accent. Then using a less busy more neutral coordinating tile above the counters.

I'm not a fan of diamond shaped tiles in either direction. They always look harlequinish and a little outdated to me (lots of diamond tile positionings in 1980's and 90's backsplashes). Stick with your original plan for a subway tile, but maybe in a just slightly lighter, creamier color than the counter so as not to detract from it and not to darken the room.

I agree a creamy, simple tile would look better in the end but if you do use one of the others I like the diamonds best.

Agree with too much gold.... try these Subway tiles from Sonoma Tile... Travertine and warm, but wont detract from your cabinets or your gorgeous granite.... and you might think about another tile vendor?

Emily, I used the 12x24 porceline called Olive on countertops.....dark greenish but more charcoal looking with variation...kind of looks like concrete...we did brick pattern....dark grout and white small subway up backsplash to just under upper cabs....window wall with no cabinets got dark metal looking chair rail trim above subway.....vinyl plank wood look floors go in tomorrow.....setting a nice double Kohler sink, new white appliances, painted dark ugly cabinets Dove White by Benjamin Moore and satin nickel drawer pulls and knobs.....one lucky tenant!

have you looked at the glass subway tiles? they come in so many colors

I vote for the small glass tiles.

I would do none of which you picked but rather a simple creme consistent stone or creamy subway. This is just too much rust and sunflower yellow.
