We bought our outdoor grill (we wanted a green egg) and then designed the outdoor kitchen around it. Some contractors really want you to get your grill, etc. from them. We simply chose a contractor who was willing to do it our way.

Kristin, we did an outdoor K about 5 yrs. ago. The store from which we bought our Fire Magic grill & double side burner also made custom islands. We were able to select drawers & cabinets, stucco color, granite, undercounter lighting, umbrella hole placement, etc. If you have one fabricated on-site, all the major brands have downloadable .pdf files w/ specs. Whether you have vendor provide the island or you have it built on-site, shop for grill first.
