Need help with odd living room layout!

My roommates and I are lost with this odd living room shape. We are about to move in but need ideas on placement of furniture. These are pictures of how the people before us have it set up but it just seems awkward and tight especially since our only entry door is in this room also. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

We just need some sort of idea because this room is such an odd shape and have driven ourselves crazy trying to think of furniture arrangements!

I would put the TV where the large couch currently is and a low-profile sectional with the longer side on the wall where the TV currently is. Couldn't tell where the entrance is, but it seems like the biggest problem there is too much and too big of furniture for the space.

Can you sketch the layout with measurements? It's hard to judge from photos.

One thing for sure when buying new furniture is to purchase smaller and sleek to make the space seem bigger. Remove the table in corner and maybe look into removing a wall if possible to make it more spacious and more open concept.
