Reprinting open floor plan

We are trying desperately not to make a mistake. We have tried close to 10 different paint samples and can't to make a decision as most of them do not look like the paint chips. We want a sophisticated neutral, but not beige. We have white and black kitchen cabinets and a soft blue gray beige area rug in the living room an the kitchen and living room adjoin. The light is western and southern and loft overlooks the whole lower level. The guest bedroom is palladium blue and we need a color for master bedroom and bath. Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated....we are weary!!!!!

Sherwin Williams "Zircon" . No color mixed, looks like the paint chip. To get a color that matches a chip, you must go to a good paint store and say

"after you shoot this , I want it to match the CHIP. Not the "formula" for the chip.

They are two different things.

Benjamin Moore "Dolphin Gray" is a great color. Try it at about 25% formula for a great look. I have used it quite a few times.

I think the layout is fine and I like the public wing connected to the private wing by the entry hall and then offset. Nice idea. But it looks like a little more thought is warranted to help you refine your ideas. Which side is the front of the house? I kinda think the lounge and kitchen should be flipped such that the hallway from the bedroom wing leads to the kitchen. That would allow the kitchen to be reconfigured such that the room with the sliders could be turned into a breakfast room. Alternatively, that room could be the laundry room (because it doesn't look like there's one in this plan and you'll probably want one). Is the kitchen really walled off from the living space? Are you really going to enjoy having an actual door into the kitchen from the entry hall and then an actual door into the lounge too with a litte passage at the end between the two?. Is there a garage? If so, how do you get to the house from the garage? Front door, back door? I also kinda think the bathroom layout needs work. It's an old-fashioned layout and I don't think you'll be happy with it for too long. Plus it could hurt the resale value of your home. Could the toilet be moved into the corner closet in the hall so you can have a nice long vanity across from the tub? Anyway, just some thoughts. I really like the layout. It has a mid-century appeal to it.

Please advice on making the floor plan smaller, with minimal wasted space. The suns path is east, north, west. The building lines are tricky and hence the shape? Is there sufficient light? The kids may not having any play area due to the harsh north sun.

Also, make sure none of the previous color is coming through your newly swatched walls. Dark colors tend to find a way through and change the color. Try using 2 coats for the test spots if you are unsure if color is coming through.
