Space above wine fridge

I already posted this picture today, but it seems like it's the only one I have of our kitchen. It's an old picture, but with the exception of a new faucet, and some clutter control, everything looks the same.

We have a weird space at the end of the cabinets/above the wine fridge that I need to do something with, but don't know what. The long term plan is to replace the counter top, and build out the kitchen around the wine fridge. However, that's not going to be any time soon, so I need something that will work in the meantime.

I was thinking of shelves, or a wine rack? Thoughts?

I will warn you to be sure that your wine fridge can actually be built in -- many of them cannot, as they need the ventilation from the sides and rear.

Anyway, you could easily put a series of open shelves there, either on the wall or attached to the side of the current cabinet.

Or you could get some kind of glass liquor cabinet to organize and show off your bottles and glassware. Or maybe you could get shelves with front lips like this to make an ad hoc liquor cabinet.

Those are great ideas, thank you! I love the second one!

We did actually check into the fridge when we bought it, and it can be built it. We will most likely be replacing it with another one though once we decide to reno the kitchen. The house is only 1.5 years old, so we are a while away from doing the renovations, but thanks for the reminder!
