The installer did this correctly. You would have had small oddly shaped cuts at the corner and you do want the tile to extend behind the refrigerator slightly.

No other tile is necessary, just the finished edge of the tile. Here is a pic of the other side.

If you would like to have the tile added above and below the tile shown to fill in the blank wall behind the fridge it would be an easy accommodation on the part of the installer.

Glass tile is very difficult to grout. be sure to have the grout fill 100% of the space between the tiles all the way back to the wall. Not filling the grout completely will result in black lines as you see through the tile into the dark cavities of the unfilled sections.

Your tile looks perfect! You have a very qualified tile person. It should go behind the kitchen to tie the refrigerator into the kitchen. It ends perfectly along the counter top. The fact that you have a rounded upper cabinet helps the edge of the tile. It really looks great! I think you may be reacting the difference from what you had. Love what you've done!

Glass tile is a pain to cut properly if they don't know how. Fresh blade and using a stone to polish the edges after EVERY cut results in a chip free cut. In all honesty i agree with you but would probably leave alone. They didn't want to cut the tile and did not plan the layout to end at the count edge.

There should be a metal or plastic profile at the end of the tiles to finish it off and also protect the edges of the tiles. Without the profile the end will have to be caulked to finish off to the wall

By the way it should not just end behind the fridge but what is done is done. Also the corner should divide the length to make a full tile from side to side.

It will look fine when done just be clear how they are going to finish those edges. Non sanded grout of course.

Tiles should be symmetrical in cuts on either side. Tile setters typically start center and work their way out, so cuts are even at the ends. Personally (being the perfectionist I am) I wouldn't be ok with this either. The cuts should be similar (if not almost the same) on either end. Especially with expensive material like glass. Glass is super hard to cut, and is not something that can be done quickly or the glass will chip and the color will come off the back where the cuts are done. Since the backsplash is already laid, I would either keep it the way it is, or have him cut those tiles straight and put a Schluter edge (or glass liner if that glass comes with one) on the end to finish it off nicely.

Also, make sure the tile setter uses a non-sanded grout when grouting. Sanded grout will scratch that beautiful glass.
