What colors are the walls? Soft creamy white trim. I would not want to see the windows covered much but if you want sheers on the top part they can be covered in an open fan style. Perhaps leave the top uncovered. You can add silhouettes or roman shades starting with the top of the lower window and leave the upper window uncovered. Beautiful windows! Gorgeous!

I was afraid it was that strange green. Gray is very popular right now. Taupe would be pretty. Do you have any furniture yet or rugs for the room? What color were you thinking? Is it a living room?

I would leave the Palladian windows bare, they're so gorgeous! You can have a company like 3m come out and put a film on them that doesn't obstruct the view, but filters the sunlight so your furniture isn't damaged. They have different degrees of filters. I'd add panels to the square windows. A beautiful neutral for walls with a lot of sunlight is Benjamin Moore's Shale. Beautiful room!

If you repaint be sure to do a primer on the green walls before you paint otherwise that bright green will affect your color! Good luck and post pics when you're finished!

I would do a soft drape - piled into each corner, but can be drawn when you are having intimate
moments in this room - especially in the evening.

Regarding pattern and/or colour - you need two things:
1) photograph of your perfectly designed room - to help keep you focused on the design and end result
and, 2) an inspiration point, this can be a painting, vase, dish, toss cushion or fabric pattern. This inspiration should have all the colours you want to incorporate into this room -

DO NOT pick your drapes or your paint colour before you have these two things - as, it is important to know where your going before you set off on your journey -

You have very limited space above the arch of your windows for a curtain rod. If you do side panels, I would install them on medallions as shown in the pictures below, with a coordinating roman shade on the straight window.

I would put a treatment on the lower portion of the window and leave the arch open. A horizontal sheer shade like a shangri la or Silouette. It soft look of a sheer with the function of a blind. You can add someting to the arch in the future if you feel the need.But someone mention film, that's a good idea to block the suns UV rays. I would get yards of a white gossamer fabric, something with a bit of texture but billowy. Then I would hang the curtains, each window will have a panel on each side. Get gothic styled decorative rods, 2 of them. Mount them just under the ceiling. Pull each panel back using holdbacks, decorative kind. But you want the curtains pulled just at the point where the top of the arch ends, so high up on each window. Let the curtains "puddle" onto the floor for drama. I would paint the room a ethereal pale bluish color or pale, pale buttery yellow and do a venetian plaster finish. Then paint all the trim white.
