Comparing different methods solely on yieild per plant isnt very intuitive. You should also factor in time, labour, media, water, power and nutrient costs for a level playing field. There will be differences between the various hydroponic methods, flood and drain, NFT, DWC, RDWC etc. The same is true for low pressure or sprinkler type and high pressure or air atomised aeroponics..

Dear, Thanks for a reply. I am aware of different systems, and that it varies a lot between each one of them. But my goal is to find the best system, only on yield factor per year. Since my thesis, and this topic in general will only work in perfect and Utopian society i am not taking in consideration labor, media, power and other factors. I would only need rough estimate of "possible" potential yield of each of this system in perfect "utopian" conditions.

Given a perfect environment where all above ground parameters are optimal, the method that will produce the largest yield will be the one that provides the most abundant root growth, in the shortest possible time using the fewest resources.
