Best Daffodils for a Shadier Spot?

I'd like to plant some daffodils in my garden, however in the spring, with the way the sun is, there isn't a ton of direct sun. Can anyone recommend some varieties to try that would be more likely to do well in less sun? Everything I read says sun/half sun-shade, but I am curious which ones you've found that do better in a shadier spot. Thank you.

in my brief experience....they all do decent in some shade. i have some that did great this year and probably only get 1-2 hrs of direct sunlight a day.

I have a mix that are in a lot of shade. The miniature ones seem to do better than the larger ones.

I would probably avoid the tazettas, jonquils and triandrus groups and concentrate on the cyclaminus and small cupped types. The wild lobularis and poets narcissus (acteae) have always done well in shade while February Gold has always been early and reliable.

What is causing the shade? I have a lot of success with daffodils, forsythia, squills, snow drops that are all under a 60 year old Maple. Of course they bloom before the tree leafs out. The point being, see where the shade is and when.
