It looks like a wood panel wall with a "wash" which would be lighter than paint but heavier than a stain. There is also wallpaper like this.

I don't know... my guess is a beadboard with a painted or opaque stain... but my expertise is the furnishings. Please remember me if you need furniture. Here are a few more pictures that may help...
