Can this be used indoors?

We have a narrow 1860s row home in DC. I was looking to put a table in front of our recently uncovered original fireplace (which is not even close to being up to code). Ideally 14"-16" wide x48"-60" long x 18-20" high. Can this be used indoors? shipping? Cost? Can the fire pit be moved back to maximize useful coffee table space in front of the couch, ie for drinks and small plates when the flame is not on? If not, given the circumstances described, do you have other options?
