I have a 48" BS with a grill. I bought it in 2008. Since it was new, the flame on the grill right where the igniter lights the burner is too high. It shoots up over the top of the metal bracket that holds the igniter in place. It burned a hole right through the first burner many years ago. I called BS, they sent a replacement burner with some of the holes on the burner near the igniter welded over so gas wouldn't come out of those holes. That worked for several years until recently when it burned a hole right through the metal burner again. I called BS, they sent a new burner, igniter and bracket. The only problem is this burner doesn't have the holes plugged up like the last one and the flame is shooting up over the top again. I have LP and it was purchased as an LP unit. The rep at BS suggested LP is hotter than gas and that's why it's making a hole in the burner. This doesn't make sense to me. Why would it run so hot that the burner can't handle the flame? Is there anything I can do about this? Do I have to call BS back and ask for another special burner with the holes welded over again? I wonder if I'm the only one having this issue with the grill.
