Help with Living Room!

Hi! I have ivory couches and BM stongington gray walls. I am at a loss as to what kind of area rug & coffee table to get. I had round upholstered coffee table but returned it as it looked lost. (The side tables are not staying and were just from our move) Any help would be most appreciated!!!! Thank You!!

An upholstered chair for the corner by the love seat.....glass coffee table...rectangular to be put in front of the sofa. Matching end tables...one at the window end of the couch and one beside the love seat.....matching lamps on both. Put a garden stool near your upholstered chair for sitting a cup of coffee and put the floor lamp behind or beside the chair. The upholstered chair could be some sort of figured material and use one of the colors for pillows for your couches. Then choose a rug with the accent color or even a plain one that matches your walls. If you want curtains......white sheers.

I would suggest finalizing the furniture and layout before buying a rug. It doesn't look like quite the right furniture for the space; the seating pieces look large and the end tables and lamps look small. Posting another photo showing the entire sofa and the amount of space on either side of it would help.

In the meantime, I would suggest you consider replacing the small traditional sconces with ones that are taller and have more of a transitional style.

I agree, the scale of the lamps isn't right when compared to the furniture. I can see a gold and glass coffee table - heading in an elegant/glamorous direction. But you definitely need to set furniture up better and take a photo of the entire space. They need to be closer together in order to be right for conversation

Thanks --we just moved in so the lamps are from our previous apt. I am more looking for an area rug, coffee table and side table suggestions. Lamps will have to come later. Thanks!!

Check out some of the oil rubbed bronze/iron sconces at pottery barn...I think they'd look really good in this space. I could see a Moroccan tiled rug too!

Or antique brass and glass coffee table - rectangular. I envisage a cream area rug incorporating any accent colour you like which you'd use in cushions and artwork too
