Ow! I did it again.

I'm working on my Great room. I bought an arched floor lamp and I was going to get a Noguchi Table. Then it happened my son gets married and has a baby. The Noguchi is out, it's a danger, but some kind of hassock has to go under the lamp. Every time I stand up and I'm 5'4" I hit my head. But I don't want to cover the rug too much. The fireplace is opposite the sectional. Although the sectional looks brown, it's charcoal. Thanks in advance.

An upholstered ottoman in a blue corresponding to the dining chairs - with storage would work well here. I can also see an off white sculptured rug adding some texture to the room.

A tray can be put on the large ottoman and removed when the little one is there or to use as a foot rest.

If you opt for a metal frame glass topped coffee table, then you're not covering the beauty of the rug... very nice rug!

Hitting your head on the lamp is definitely a problem. Can it go somewhere else? After all, your grand baby is dictating a safer environment, so why not give yourself the same priority. A tall pyramid shaped torchiere floor lamp would solve the problem and also serve as an end table with 3-4 shelves in it. Look for one that has a small spotlight pointing down (great for soft mood lighting or night light) as well as the main lamp shade pointing the light up toward the ceiling.

I asked dear hubby to move lamp to a different spot. Lamps heavy ; he sat for a moment . Being a student of don't work harder think smarter, he said why not move the end table and put the lamp in corner. I put two little birds on the table. Finished
