As I'm sure you know, dog hair is going to stick to any upholstered sofa. Slip-covering it will help a bit, but unless you're committed to washing the slipcover at least once a week, you're going to have to do lots of vacuuming. I have a dog that sheds year-round. My sofa is upholstered in microfiber, but I cover it in a king-sized Indian bedspread---you know, those colorful cotton things with the bright colors that used to be so popular back in hippie days? I have four or five of them, and about twice a week, I toss whichever one I'm using into the washer and throw on a different one. You can't imagine how much dog hair I clean out of the lint trap, but at least I don't have to vacuum the sofa very often.

Thank you very much for all the help! I'm gonna look into everything you said!

I have a leather chair that my dog thinks needs to be scratched up to be made more comfortable. It's true that shedding is not a problem with leather, but you could have a whole other set of problems if your dog is as weird as mine. Good luck.

have you tried homereserve.com. they have fabric designed for pets/

I have used various covers for my couch , the best of which is a lightweight quilt or bedspread. I generally find them at yard sales or I re-use one that I already have. It's a good reason to buy a new one for myself! Just remember when you wash it to use WARM OR HOT WATER, this will help remove the hair. After washing it, be sure and wipe down the inside of the washer. A used dryer sheet works well.

If you have a long hair dog, have you considered having him groomed and possibly trimming his coat. My Great Pyrenees stays in the house a lot, so I keep him trimmed.

Leather and a throw where the dog likes to sit so that the throw can be washed dog sweat is not good for leather. We have 2 big goldens and they shed we have leather almost everywhere and the hair just doesn’t stick its all on the floor. They each have a light throw that just goes in the wash once a week

Try putting your items in the dryer with a wet wash cloth and set your dryer on air. The hair ends up in the lint trap. I do this regularly with throw rugs and dog bed covers so they don't wear out as fast. I you are not satisfied, clean out lint trap and start over, I have two dogs with long hair, I do this at least once a week.
