Hi - For years I have always cut my beautiful butterfly bush down by 1/3 in the fall. I usually left about 1 1/2 feet. It always came back with a vengeance. This March, because we had a crazy winter in NY (hot, cold, hot), it had started growing very early and my husband cut it to the ground without my knowledge. He said it was supposed to be cut in March. Maybe 4 inches was left. Now it has not started growing again and I have no clue if he killed it. Your thoughts on what to do please. I am sick over this. Thank you.
