    you mean transitional.
i think you just want to spice things up here. rest seems ok in this bath.. otherwise what needs change needs to be known to us Houzzers. i-e vanity or mirror etc.. or the taps etc..

how about adding colour to that window via stained glass.. would give sparkly, dancing lights through the day.. as well as address privacy issue. and you won't need the blind/curtain coverup.. your window is a nice size too.. or instead you could do the lace print effect yourself on that window..

you can add paintings on the wall opposite the mirror, above the towel bar, picking colours from the stained glass, OR with natural subjects (such as painted flowers or pressed ones, specially if you're adding a busy print wallpaper as am suggesting ahead) such as
    Powder Bath · More Info

OR have a nice wall paper behind the mirror and on the wall across
Award Winning Master Bath · More Info
to add colour n spice. OR boldness with
Minnesota Private Residence · More Info

having added a busy print wall paper, add plainer shower curtains, with the bow tie treatment for traditional look & interest

and add a mat.. plus a brighter centre light.. OR sconce instead on each side of the mirror

you need a nicer shape of container on top of your flush tank.. like this :
Sea Girt Shore Portfolio · More Info
... you could search for soemthing more vaselike in shape.. go with orchids b/w..

plus wall mounted accessory rack would be great on wall next to the vanity, so that you don't place any of the stuff on the basin.. that rack can hold towels, soaps etc.. like this sort: http://pinterest.com/pin/13370130115279027/

@Lyvonne... I'm looking for color ideas for a shower curtain, maybe wall colors and also, im not too excited about having a towel rod on the opposite wall from the toilet. What do you suggest?

The bathroom looks quite nice, I would invest in some shower curtains and art on the walls.

Hi Veronica. Hi Dytecture & anumaura.

I agree w/Dytecture - the bathroom does look nice.

I like anumaura's stained glass idea for the window.

I would change the mirror & the light. I'd move the toilet paper holder to the side of toilet (you can get a standing holder), add art where the current towel rack is & add a multi-rung towel holder on the wall closer to the shower.

I like this bathroom w/the large mirror that stretches across:

I'd move the shower curtain rod closer to the ceiling. I'm looking for shower curtain ideas but not seeing anything fantastic yet.

Hi Lyvonne. I didn't find any nice shower curtains too..

seconding the suggestion for multi rung towel rack & raising the shower curtain rod (was on my mind too ^_^ as that would separate the wallpaper from the shower area tiles)..

as for colours, i feel, there's a slight lavender-ish tinge to the tile running near the edge, you could try lavender therefore, for an offset sorta colour (but then you will have to add lavender elsewhere too.. otherwise it would be better to stick to sandy, peach-y or coral shades..
hmmm.. i wonder if there are any marbly effect kinda shower curtains out there (though this won't go with stained glass n other theme..) hmmm..

Allll you really need is a theme :)

Hi lessismoore! Thought about you the other day when I saw a Houzzer looking for photoshop help. :)
Very good point on guests needing somewhere to put their stuff!

Your bathroom looks fine. I think you should keep the mirror because it looks good with the vanity. Your wall color is fine too. If you don't like the towel bar across from the toilet, how about installing robe hooks instead or installing a towel bar above the toilet?

Another thing many people don't think about: Guests need a hook on the back of the bathroom wall... for bathrobe or clothing to change into. No guest wants to pop out of the bathroom in a towel! I wind up using the FLOOR for my clothes or robe if there is no hook!

Why not place a flat (non-framed) mirror sized for that entire wall space? It should really open it up.
