Living room arrangement

I need help trying to figure out where to put a TV in this room. With four doorways, windows, and built-in shelving I can only figure out two options - above the fireplace or on the wall opposite the fireplace.

Concerned about awkward viewing angles with either option, and if the couch is floating in the middle of the room I don't think I can easily put a lamp by it. Suggestions welcome!

Here's what I suggest. You will need recessed lighting. If your floor is accessible from underneath, you may be able to have floor outlets installed.

I do like the idea of a sectional. The area between the French doors is a fireplace. My mock up was not very clear.

So, the first plan would be as if the TV were above the fireplace.

Ok, yes tv over fireplace. It's better than having to keep your head turned the whole time to watch tv. Definitely, take the furniture off the walls. This is a really large space and you should take advantage of it.

As large as your room is, I would consider putting the TV in one of the corners opposite the built in book cases. You need several "areas" and floating the sofa in the middle of the room is not the answer.

Putting the TV about the fireplace is never a good idea. Too hot, bad viewing angle, etc.

You need to decide what this room is going to be used for and separate it into areas...TV area, fireplace viewing, reading nook, etc. and create areas.
