Hello,

I live in New England and my husband had ferns planted in our part shade side yard many years ago. We're not sure of the variety. Also, are the rootstocks supposed to be above ground las shown in the photo? Some of them lean over quite a bit and I am concerned they might pull themselves out of the ground. Should I replant them deeper? This might be a result of frost heaving, or perhaps this is typical of the variety?
