Plant losing & regaining white veins

Originally posted as an ID reqest, I really now need to understand why this plant is losing & regaining its variegation without being moved from its cozy corner. I am reposting to change the title to something more specific.

The first step is to positively ID so I can understand what this plant needs to flourish. Please review original post:
