Yes. There are two methods. With crawlspace radiant (or basement) the PEX tubing is stapled to the bottom of the sub-floor and a radiant shield is placed below it, then insulation....after the hardwood is installed. This sis out of sequence for most installs so an alternate is to install Wirsbo radiant panels on top of the sub-floor and leave the piping exposed. Easiest if the PEX is run at a diagonal to the flooring material..or vice versa. The installer can then see the pipes as he installs and never has a run parallel to his material. Or the pipe layout is perpendicular to the flooring layout...same thing. We recommend quartered and rift sawn oak for these installation for stability. Quartered and rift is more dimensionally stable than plain sawn oak and maintains its shape when the heat is on.

Ironwood is correct. Rift & Quartered floors are ideal for a project like this. Many of our RQ White Oak floors go over radiant heat. Let me know if you have any questions. We do have some specials right now. joel@eutree.com

Just make sure your in-floor heating is Hydronic (water) or Forced Air. The Electric matting is a bit suspicious when used with flammable materials....like wood.

This sounds like very sound advice.
