Can You Stack a Washer and Dryer & Keep Washer Pedestal Attached?

We are building new home and I have decided to stack my Samsung Washer and Dryer. They are both on pedestals in our current home, and I wondered if I might be able to keep the washing machine pedestal attached to the washer and then stack the dryer. Not sure if the pedestals can stand the weight or how the stacking kits actually work.

Anybody have any experience (or better yet photos) of this setup?

we didn't have a kitchen pantry and did this in our 72" wide laundry space. Hubz actually built the pedestal drawer, we stacked washer and dryer and converted the remaining space into a 9" wide space for mop, broom, ironing board and remaining area are 2 drawers, cubby for laundry baskets, cabinets for supplies, etc. AND the all important step stool for me to reach the dryer controls!!! I dont need to use the stool to open and load or unload, only to reach the controls... We put a mat down to absorb vibration and prevent sliding.

Do not do this. Accident waiting to happen, and your dryer will be so tall that the controls will be out of reach. Stacked Samsungs are already too tall for the reach of some.

They make a dryer with controls on the bottom just for this purpose.

My Samsung washer and dryer were both made to sit side-by-side or to stack... do you think one stand under the washer will work or will it collapse

HU-587190349. Did you end up doing it ? I want to do it as well but I’m afraid the pedestal will collapse under all thy weight and can’t find any info on line on how much weight it can take ! Anyone else did it ?

If you are buying a manufactured pedestal, read the installation manuals for the ones you think you want. All the ones that I have seen specify only one appliance per pedestal and forbid putting a stack on top.

I spoke with an LG rep who cleared it with a supervisor: you can indeed stack an LG dryer on top of an LG washer and LG pedestal washer. Our model numbers are DLGX3571W, WM3770HWA, WD100CW. We will be doing so for our newly purchased house which has its particular design challenge. I purchased the 27” stacking kit (and a side vent kit, to better use the space). We have been using the the two washers together thus far with the dryer beside it. We will be installing late July 2021 and will report back!

Careful! What if you need to get behind the units for service or there's a leak? You won't be able to "walk" it away from the wall. It will topple over once you get to the edge of the pedestal.

The machine on bottom of the stack (washer) is (or should be) attached to the pedestal. The whole stack with pedestal moves together ... although the weight for moving it is increased accordingly.

Following up: this discussion made me dig deeper and I became super skeptical of the idea of stacking them all together. So we did not make a mega stack and instead installed the three units in the basement with the pedestal washer underneath the regular washer.!

I don't want to put a Pedestal WASHER under it, just a Pedestal with a draw.

@Tom Nowick I am trying to figure out the same. I have an LG washer and gas dryer and LG pedestals. I'm wanting to stack (from bottom to top): LG pedestal drawer, washer, dryer. Would love to know if anyone has done this!

They talk about it but nobody seems to have done it
