Thank you. That helps calm my nerves. I was worried that it might be fungal but i don't see spots or cancers anywhere. It is in partial shade. I put it where it would grow into a full sun area. I have noticed that many "full sun" plants can't even take the sun here in CA!

Help us out on why you grafted it. Trees from HD are already grafted and ready to go.

I actually bought it so that I could graft the Duke onto it. I was lucky enough to come by some scion wood, and had to take advantage. Also I know you get better pollination with multiple varities.

I had problems with my avocado trees. I killed 2 of them, the main problem was my native clay soil and over-watering. I have a video about it here. Hope yours comes back soon, mine did not, Eeeeek!!!

Thank you for the information. That may be a contributing factor. Luckily I am close enough to the river to have mostly river loam, however there is still a lot of clay in my soil as well. Now I am so jealous I just spotted a HUGE avocado tree a few blocks down.

I see so many fruit trees I LOVE on my drive home from work, dont tell anyone but i often stop and jack cuttings! LOL

LOL Oh yes I have the snippers in my car. Be careful with citrus though. It's illegal and passes many diseases. If it hangs over the yard onto public it is technically legal to take a cutting of anything else. I have a neighbor I've been meaning to ask for some cuttings. You know the type... fruit trees packed in as tight as possible..

Did not know that! Thanks. Yass snippers in the car hahaha. There is an apricot with lots of fruit on it im gonna stop by today. Its literally next to the sidewalk, no fence. Seems legit to me ha!

Did you get your Duke scionwood from BIll Bird, or from somewhere else. I have some Duke seedlings that I want to graft onto and I'll be looking for some Duke scionwood soon, so I'm curious to know your source.
