Novice that I am, I would say Loops Pride. I have never seen one off the screen, so I'm basing my opinion only on what I've read. The leaves look thick, stiff, and "juicy". There also appears to be a keel.

My Whitney has much thinner and more flexible looking leaves, although the markings are very similar. None of mine have that spine on the back of the leaf either. The growth looks a little different too.

What's your opinion on this one?

I'm thinking it's Loops Pride too. For a plant with so many leaves, Whitney would be a lot taller. Loops Pride is really a nice plant, although a little hard to grow.

I've never seen a Loop's Pride so I have nothing to go on. I thought this was Whitney because I recently was given one similar and just assumed it was that. I didn't realize the difference in the two was the height and the thickness of the leaves.

Ok, but I'm having a hard time seeing the difference. The only thing I can think is the grower used growth retardant on this plant. It is about 7" tall max

For me it's in the leaves. Look how the Loops' leaves are so thick and tight they almost form a cup. Whitney is thin and straight. Mine doesn't grow tight like that.

Loops Pride is a hahnii, Whitney is a futura size.

I agree with everyone else. Loop's Pride and Whitney. Katrina is right about the tight leaves on Loop's and the more loose rosette of Whitney.

Lori, where did you get the Loop's Pride? That's a real find!!!!! But be VERY careful with watering, it's not so picky in the summer but winter can be trouble.

My Loops Pride lost it's roots again. I got it in pure grit this time. Lost about 5 leaves but seems to have settled down now.

Hi Stush, good to hear from you again. Man these are a #%@! to grow, aren't they? At least as bad as Golden Hahnii.

But yours is doing well. I put it in a 3" squatty pot with a minimum of mix. Perlite and a little bark mulch so I can tell when it's dry. No growth yet but you well know how slow they are, which is weird for an all-green plant.

By the way Stush, do you still have any Silver Queen to give away? Not a big deal if you don't, but I'd be glad to pay postage and for your time and trouble if you do. I meant to ask when you first offered but I let it get by me.

Getting waves of rain from a tropical storm going thru right now, but I've seen way worse.

I have a pup coming up on the Loop's Pride I got not too long ago. There were bigger ones but I took home a small one. I found out they don't like much direct light, even through a window.

There is a dark spot, at the bottom right, between the two leaves. Do you think that could be rotted there?

Russ, I got one small Silver Queen left. I'll unpot it and dry it a bit. We have had a lot of rain this past week. Calling for dryer cooler weather now. Could go first class for much cheaper cost.

Stush, not a problem if you were keeping the SQ for backup or whatever. But if you do send it, first class is perfectly fine. I will reimburse you though, and please accept extra for time and effort.
