It is a small room. A smaller couch would look better in a room of this size. Look at 72" couches.......

There are apartment size sofas. Those would be better for the room and perhaps 2 lounge chairs for the room might be even better

I'm looking for a sand or oyster color Sofa or Loveseat or that is somewhat comfy / elegant. Only want to spend $600. Not an easy find.

I, personally, would not buy a piece of furniture that you're going to sit on for long periods of time without first testing it. You want to make sure it "fits" you and you get a chance to feel the fabric (scratchy, cheap, light weight?). Ashley Furniture has inexpensive furniture -- medium quality all around. It might be worth checking them out if there is one near you.

Thanks for the smart advice. I felt the same way! This piece was beautiful chenille fabric and super strong and comfy. Just too big. May go back for the Loveseat? Woukd that be ok in this small room? The sofa is 92 inches too big!

We live in a small (900 sq ft) house. It has an open floor plan. We purchased a loveseat and 2 chairs for our living room. I would have preferred a larger sofa but visually, it would have been too much for the space. The only time I regret it is when we have more than 4 people here, but then we drag the dining room chairs over.

Defever, I totally get that. This room is a second sitting room. We have a sectional in the living room which will hold a few more people.

No matter what you do in here, it's going to be tight. Two chairs will seat two more comfortably than a loveseat will. If you need this to be office and TV room, something like this will give you more flexibility, especially if you use small swivel chairs. You might also bring these chairs into the living room temporarily when you have extra guests.

(I had to guess at the openings to the room.)

A couple of chairs from Target that might fill the bill. If your store has them, you could do a butt test first.

You can still have cozy, without the overstuffed look. The chenille sofa you show is too big.
For $600 try IKEA or Ashley furniture. You need an apartment size for an 11 X11 room.

Try a desk under the window that is more shallow paired with a low bookcase or cubbies that could function as an end table for the sofa

That is exactly what i would prefer in the room. I have two kids and would rather have a comfy place for them to sit and hang out as well as myself!

It all depends on how many people "hang" out there. The room is too small for that length. Consider the TV would be facing window, you would have to have shade because of too much light. I do love that small sectional posted.

Just wanted to point out that you have baseboard radiant heat and putting your couch in front of it just isn't good. (I have that problem also....have an open wrought iron table in front of mine when heat is on).... I think Goveraxle has the right plan for your space with either the chairs or the sectional..

I do think this is one case I would vote for a sectional.

Erinsean, the couch is still needing to go against the back as the electric has already been dropped in for the tv, cable etc. I'll have it a bit pulled off the wall.

I think you would be so happy with a small Ikea sectional in this space. My daughter has had hers forever. She's on her second set of covers, it's comfortable, she can separate the chaise (which is how the sectional is configured....it's a loveseat with attached chaise) when she feels like it, and it's durable and compact...it doesn't "overwhelm" the room.

You can even buy additional ottomans to push against it making what is, essentially, a big bed. What could be better with kids?

That is the look I'm looking for so thank you. I'm just not a fan of the legs on this particular one. I am looking for this exact style in other stores. My goal is not to make it too kid friendly tho. I want this space for me ;)

I recommend you keep the sofa 80" or less and not too deep, skip rolled arms and go for a simple track arm or English arm to maximize seating for this 10x10' room. Depth of the desk should be 16-20" with a non bulky chair to work at which could also be comfortable to watch tv. Without knowing what's in the blind corner from your picture I can't say for sure but if the desk goes along the window as I showed earlier another option would be to put the tv over the shelves on the left and place the sofa to the right when you enter. 2 cube storage ottomans could be slid over for putting up your feet or against the left wall as added seating. Kallax cubbies to finish the same height as the desk

The tv will be on the small wall. The desk will go on the long walk on left when walking in. The sofa would go on the back wall. The room has been electrically set for the equipment in those locations.

What do you think of these Chairs with a computer desk in the room and maybe a coffee table? They are not as fancy as the ones posted above but super comfortable. $299.00 each!

Today found this sofa and loved it...it is 86 inches wide.

Those vents are going to be in the way of any furniture you want to put in that corner. The sofa with legs would be better than one with no air flow beneath it but I'd still try to put the sofa against the solid wall -- even if it means choosing a 2-seat one -- and chairs (with legs) in the corner.

Just heating vents. Not too much in the way.

I don't think that tufted sofa looks very comfy. I think you need something way more streamlined with straight arms,not rolled. Try an apartment size sofa.

Destin4 Interiors LLC your advice was great. I decided to go with a sofa. It's a comfy room and wanted a sofa for that reason. I went with the Kings hickory sofa with English arms and turned leg. I am hoping I love it. The color I went with is a lighter durable fabric. Spent double what I wanted to spend but think it will be a great sofa. Now need help bringing in colors. Thinking all wood tones will work with this.

Love your new sofa. I would put the desk and the tv in the corner and under the window (by the doors). The sofa would be what you see when you look in (far wall).The desk chair could be positioned to look out the window. Here's a visual (ignore the style) of what I'm thinking. You don't have to do a built in. You can combine pieces to give you the look of a built in. You could use file cabinets with a countertop and open shelving or a ready made corner desk. This will give the room a more open look and you won't be looking at the side of the desk when you enter.

Thanks linlac! I actually have the room internet set up in the wall as you walk in. It's a small desk and a pardon chair that looks pretty in my opinion so I'm ok with leaving the desk at the wall. Also the desk on the opposite wall would compete too much with the tv. Small room!
