In Winter Garden (Orlando area) we had a lot of rain overnight, but not much wind. A few areas had power outages that have all been fixed. No flooding or wind damage as far as I know.

Sharon and Rita are near the west coast; Sharon's not too far from the Big Bend area. I expect they had a lot more going on than we did!

Texas - I'm in San Antonio. We had hail storms not long ago then all of this flooding. Luckily even though my area got hit by hail pretty hard the second time we didn't have any damages. I lost a few plants due to all the rain but that's about it. Now it feels like a freakin sauna. All that rain and now it's supposed to get up into the 90's.

Like ibquiltn4fun said in south Texas we're always in some kind of drought and when we do get rain it's too much all at once and we flood. :(

It's sweet of you for your concern! I live in Brooksville, about 15 miles from the coast. Although we did get ongoing rain the whole time, the bands were mostly light rain with intermittent heavy rain and hardly any lightning. The winds did gust up a few times but it never lasted long. The way they talked on the media I was very concerned since we had very bad local flooding during Tropical Storm Debby but this one's track just didn't affect us as bad and I'm grateful. We live in an area of clay soil that takes a long time to drain and/or run off and it gets really dicey around here with lots of rain. During TS Debby and many days afterward, we had to go many miles the opposite way out of here just to get to the store that's only 5 miles away because the usual route was flooded and closed down. It was much worse only 40 miles South of us in Tampa.

Rita, I knew you were over near the west coast - now I know exactly where! :) Brooksville is a nice area.

Sharon is in Crystal River - closer to the Big Bend area than you are. Hope all is well with her!

I'm in Dallas. We had tons of rain for a week. I would guess we got about 8 inches last week. We had temportary flooding of streets and intersections, some minor electric outages from fallen trees and things like that. We had no deaths, no ruined homes, etc.

I went to east Texas Sunday and the both of the forks of the Sabine river are way out of their banks and all the farmer's ponds are overflowing, but the fields weren't flooded.

I think the Brazos river has/had all the problems. Houston and the towns upriver from them have had the most problems.

I'm with hareball with the sauna thing. It is REALLY humid.

SE coast of Florida here - nothing much at all. The storm passed well north of us. We had gusty winds and possible flooding forecast, but very little rain right here, and only occasional gusts. Thank you for asking about us. I'm just so sorry for those in Texas who are going through those floods. It's a terrible situation.

I'm so glad you all are safe and that the damage was minimal. Things are really quiet up here in Minnesota.

At first, the area Colin was to hit land was smack dab on us but it went up to the Big Bend area. We live in what looks like a bay area on the map (little cove/curvy indentation of land) with canals all over the place......about half-way between Tampa and the Big Bend. There was minimal flooding in town but we had some good rain and the wind was kind of heavy at times. The electric kept going off and then on again, but we're ok.......DH got tired of changing the digital clock when the power would come back so gave it up and waited a few hours. lol Thanks for thinking of us.

I'm in Brevard County (by the Space Center - Cape Kennedy)...we had very little 'weather' from TS Colin...a little more breeze than normal, perhaps, but not even close to what a normal afternoon thunderboomer would be!! The 'other side' - over by the Pond (Gulf Coast) was much more affected, however..my sister in law in Tampa said that they have flooded streets, so the impact there was much greater.

I'm glad everyone is ok and hope those who can't check in are doing well. We lived outside San Antonio when I was in high school. I remember the flooding when we got a lot of rain. Here in Central Alabama it is unseasonably hot, but we could certainly use some rain.
